Before entering “the new castle” the Captain allows for a stopover in a secluded and beautiful cove ideal for swimming, sunbathing, jet skiing, … Lunch is served onboard at 13:00h (1 PM).
The city of Hvar, or aptly named the King of the islands cities, is according to many the most beautiful fashionable place for night clubbing. But Hvar is also a city full of historical heritage and with the Europe’s oldest theater. The city is nestled on the southwestern coastline of the Island in a beautiful cove protected by the Pakleni Islands. Today, the city of Hvar with its rich and tempestuous history is one of the most visited locations and must-see destinations on the Adriatic tourist map.
The Hvar Theater, the European oldest theater; the Fortress; the City Loggia; the Cathedral and the Franciscan monastery are just some of the sights that will seduce you with their beauty and take you back in time when Venice, Austrian Empire or Napoleon ruled this area.
But the monuments are not the only thing that makes Hvar special. Besides the above mentioned, elongated harbor reaching for the sea and the Pakleni Islands, the unique and agreeable healing climate, many beaches, restaurants, and clubs give this island a century and a half long rich tradition in tourism.
So, during the cruise, each day we will make sure you have enough time to spend enjoying the natural beauty of the pristine clean sea, hidden coves and even sandy beaches! Use every second of your time for enjoyment! And if you may need anything during the cruise, please do not hesitate to ask any of our crew members who will be happy to make your stay even more pleasurable, as OUR SHIPS are our life, and a HAPPY GUEST is our secured future!
The Island of Vis is a place hiding the splendor of the clear waters, the protected underworld, the rich sunken vessels and the miraculous views of sea’s flora and fauna. An archeological find, the collection Issa, holds a number of valuable finds, including the inscription by the hero Calius from the 4the century BC, the bronze head of Aphrodite or Artemis from the Praxitelean circle and collections of vases (south Italian red figural ornamentation, Gnathia, vases of local origin).
The Modra Špilja (the Blue Cave) on the Island of Biševo /visiting this location is dependent on the weather/
It is located along the southeast side of the small island of Biševo. The island itself is located 3.5 nautical miles southwest of Komiže, a fishing town on the west coast of the island Vis.
The Cave is well know for its specific natural blue glow that lights the cave daily from 10.30h until 11.30h on a sunny day. The only way inside the cave is using a boat less than 5 meters long and not taller than 1 meter.
More to see:
Vela Luka is located in a deep and picturesque cove on the north side of the Island of Korčula. The place has about 4,500 inhabitants who are known for their hospitality. Other characteristics of the area include traditional Dalmatian songs, mild and comfortable climate, clean sea and air.
For many tourists, the Island of Mljet is just one of the islands lost on the sea horizon, as it can be rather hard to get reach. But do not let this amazing landscapes described in the stories of Odysseus, Saint Paul and the Benedictine monks and the most endangered sea mammal species, the Mediterranean Monk Seal (Monachus monachus hermann) remain unexplored secret for you.
Visually the Island of Mljet is an elongated island, with an average width of about 3 kilometers and 37 kilometers long. From the natural aspects, it is a very unique island and presents interesting contrasts. The National Park “Mljet” covers the island’s nonwestern area and includes 5.375 hectares of protected land and surrounding sea. On the 11th of November, 1960 the area was given the status of a national park and represents government’s first institutionalized attempt to protect an indigenous ecosystem in the Adriatic. The National Park Mljet was declared an area of special interest and allocation for the following reasons:
The unique panoramic landscape of well indented coast, cliffs, reefs, rocks and numerous small islands, as well as rich topography of surrounding hills, which rise steeply above the sea level protecting vast karst/ limestone fields and ancient settlements in rock formations. Open to the south sea, the island’s outer coastline is very steep and full of "garmas", the collapsed caves. The inner coastline faces the island’s mainland and is exposed to the strong northeasterly wind knows as “bura” but it’s still less elevated and offers easier access. Furthermore, the intricate system of salt lakes represents a unique geological and oceanographic phenomenon in krst of worldwide importance. The two lakes on the island were for about 10,000 years, until the beginning of the Christian era, filled with freshwater.
Along the island’s coastline, some endemic Dalmatian plant can only be found. A unique and beautiful plant called Dubrovačka Zečina is probably the best representative of them all.
The Island of Mljet, or warmly named “the second paradise” can best be experienced using a bicycle or a scooter. The lake water is very interesting which makes swimming there a new and unusually experience. In the early evening, with your favorite drink in hand relax on a deck in a comfortable deck-chair and enjoy the view.
Korčula/ the capital city of the island Korčula/ is located along the eastern coastline of the island. It is a beautiful example of archeologically preserved, fortified medieval town. It is built on a small island with a total area of 3 hectares and was only later connected with the island’s mainland.
With a traditional program MOREŠKA, we bid you good night!
Stomorska is a harbor of the Gornje Selo and is considered the oldest settlement of the Šolta area. The steep sides of the cove hide stone settlements, towers and stone steps while an old city center is nestled in the cove itself. In a harbor, which is always full of life, full of unique and recognizable Dalmatian murmur and cacophony of human voices, roar of tools, boat motors and sounds of the waves, a watchful listener can hear and feel the heart beat of this region.
This whole vacation plan of ours is so much better if experienced right at our side than read and imagined!
On behalf of the LION QUEEN CHARTER Agency and the captains – the owners of our ships, I wish you calm seas and safe and pleasant voyage!
Best regards,
Lion Queen Charter Agency
