It was the centre of the Republic of Dubrovnik that went down at the beginning of the 19th c. with Napoleon's arrival. Through its history Dubrovnik, with its beauty, always attracted and fascinated numerous inquisitive travellers, adventurers and others, as it does even today. The main Dubrovnik street Stradun, unique for its beauty, is the centre of the old city and favourite gathering place of its citizens. With its 17 monasteries and churches and one of the oldest synagogues in Europe, Dubrovnik testifies its religious and cultural heritage. Numerous cultural sights, clear sea, friendly hosts and local specialities will make your stay in Dubrovnik unforgettable.
From Dubrovnik, we will cruise a few hours in the abundant sun until we reach Odisej's , Mljet: experience the nature and sounds of the sea.....
MLJET:
for many tourists it's one of the islands lost in the open sea. It is really hard to reach. But don't let the landscape; mentioned in the stories of Ulysses, St Paul, Benedictines and the Mediterranean she-bear; remain undiscovered. Mljet seems to be an unindented long island, approximately 3 km wide and 37 km long. It's an island of peculiarities and contrasts. The National Park "Mljet" occupies its north-western part and covers an area of 5375 hectares of protected land and surrounding sea. It was declared a National Park on 11th November 1960. and represents the first institutional attempt of protection of the original ecosystem in the Adriatic.
The National Park "Mljet" was declared an area of a special destination for: - its unique panoramic view consisting of an indented coastline, cliffs, rocks and numerous islets, rich orthography of the nearby steep hills that dominate the sea surface screening the numerous rocky fields and ancient stone settlements. Its outer coast, opens towards the south sea, is steep and full of "garma" – fallen-in caves. The coast facing the mainland and the north wind ("bura") is lower and more approachable; - its salty lakes representing a unique geological and oceanographic rocky phenomenon, important in worldly proportions. The two unique salty lakes originated some 10000 years ago, while the fresh-water lakes during the Christian era. On the costal rocks some endemic Dalmatian plants; with the beauty, "dubrovačka zečina" ahead; can be found.
Mljet, "second paradise", can best be enjoyed by renting a bike or a motorbike. It is a completely different and interesting experience to take a swim in the lakes. In the evening, take your favourite drink, sit in a deck chair and enjoy the landscape.
TOWN KORCULA:
situated on the end of the island is an exquisite example of a well preserved, fortified medieval town. It is located on an islet (3 hectares area) which was later connected to the rest of the island east. I bid you good night with traditional MOREŠKA dance!
STARI GRAD- As if time stopped. As if the old Venetian galleys are to arrive in the stone port, while numerous churches help the people with their problems in an exalted manner. /SPENDING THE NIGHT/
We're
going to spend the night with pleasant Dalmatian songs, and leave in
the morning - after the rich breakfast, 2 hours drive and a rest in
paradise - beautiful hidden bay
MILNA is the best, natural port of Brač, surrounded by beautiful sandy and gravel bays and beaches (Pasika, Osibova, Lućice, Maslinova). There's a lovely beach in the Vlaška bay. There are sports grounds for football, basketball, volleyball, bowling, table tennis. Accomodation: hotel Kaštil Jela (A); apartments, rooms. Marina ACI Milna, is the only marina on the island, it has got 200 berths in the sea and 20 places on the land.
STOMORSKA: was constructed as the port of Gornje Selo and is considered the oldest costal settlement on the island. Stone houses, yards, alleys and stairs up the nearby hills, are interwoven by the harmonious architecture into the sides of a deep gulf at the bottom of which is the old core of the place. The port is always full of life, of that well-known Dalmatian murmur, and in this cacophony of human voices, roar of tools, boat motors and sounds of the waves, a careful listener will hear and feel the beat of this climate.
TROGIR:
... is a museum in the real sense of the word. Lovers of cultural and historical sights, works of art, original buildings and lovely streets will find the rich and stratified heritage in Trogir - from the romanic yards to the modern interiors.
This is where we end our seven day cruise .... until next time!
We will be waitnig on you again with “open hands” and “smiling faces”, possibly on a different route!!
many regards,Laura Nazor- agency manager
