Gastro family route

Dear guests,

For sure you have remembered many of your travels for their odours and tastes of delicious of the regions and the countries you've passed through...

And what would you say for the delicacies made of natural ingredients from a domestic garden?

Peer into the Captain's Kitchen and while you are cruising, discover the charm of the fresh prepared food...dalmatian „spiza“...

Your crew: the family of the owner and the Captain of the ship M/J POLO (the Captain, his wife, the cook and their sons – the sailors)

SATURDAY... After you settle down on the board, along with domestic apperitives and cookies, we wigh anchor and start to cruise toward the island Šolta.

To make your journey more interesting, Captain invites you warmly to take a part in preparing your meals together with his wife.

Almost all of the goods that this family uses are from their own garden, so the food is plentiful in savour and odour.

STOMORSKA: was constructed as the port of Gornje Selo and is considered the oldest costal settlement on the island. Stone houses, yards, alleys and stairs up the nearby hills, are interwoven by the harmonious architecture into the sides of a deep gulf at the bottom of which is the old core of the place. The port is always full of life, of that well-known Dalmatian murmur, and in this cacophony of human voices, roar of tools, boat motors and sounds of the waves, a careful listener will hear and feel the beat of this climate.

SUNDAY... After the good sleep and along with real dalmatian breakfast, we start to cruise to the island Hvar – to Stari Grad. Before we get there, we shall stop in one beautiful bay for bath and to have a lunch. What suprise will Captain's Kitchen prepare for us today? While you are swimming, something delicately cooks in the pot...

STARI GRAD:  as the time stopped. As if the old Venetian galleys are to arrive int he stone port, while numerous churches help the people with their problem sin an exalted manner.

MONDAY... To explore our sunniest island, Hvar, it's not enough just to „touch“ only one of its pearls; our wish is to show you also a town of Jelsa.

Here our hostlady, our cook, asks for some help in the kitchen. Any volunteer?

JELSA:  is located in the central part of the island of Hvar, lovely, pure, friendly and open to guests and visitors. It is bordered by two island tops - St Nicolas in the west and Hum in the east. In the south it is surrounded by hills Vrh, Samotorac and Gozd, and it is protected from the northern winds by the hill Burkovo.

THUESDAY... Brač, the island of stone – the island of craftsman

By comming to Pučišća, you'll meet one of the oldest handcraft – stone-worker's. We recommend a visit to the stone-worker's school and sightseeing. Of course, it will be enough time for relaxing in one of the Brač's bays too.

PUČIŠĆA: Staying and overnight int he biggest Brač's town, Pučišća, will allowe us to get know at least some part of „stone world“: here from the ancient times is „war“ between stone and men. They would say: „is hard with or without you“, because the people here live „on stone, for stone and from stone“. (more on www.pucisca.hr)

WEDNESDAY... Pučišća-Omiš

Wholeness of the nature is authenticly shown in the town of Omiš: harmony of river, mountain and sea. The fort Fortica, Radmanove Mlinice, Mila Gojsalić – these are all beautiful places to see.

OMIŠ:  is situated in the canyon of the beautiful Cetina river, and is surrounded by massive gorges. In the past it was widely known for its pirates whose ships were, for foreign conquerors, the synonym of revenge, courage and strength for centuries. The strength of courageous pirates is now decanted into the authentic songs of the gangs of Omiš.
You simply must go to the top of the Fortica fortress situated in the old town Almissa!

THURSDAY... We wish you good morning by serving you a nice dalmatian breakfast. Sandy bay Lovrećina will inspire you with its beauty and enable you really unforgetable relaxation. Do rest yourself, because the Captain is preparing a suprise dinner for you: you'll be a guest in his house in Sumpetar and be served with a dinner prepared on a fire.

FRIDAY… leaving the the Captain Vedran's port, we are cruising toward the proud town of Trogir

TROGIR: is a museum in the real sense of the word. Lovers of cultural and historical sights, works of art, original buildings and lovely streets will find the rich and stratified heritage in Trogir - from the romanic yards to the modern interiors.

SATURDAY...unboarding at 9:00, after breakfast

We are sorry that you are leaving, but with all our heart and good „spiza“, we are

expecting you the very next year!

Good bye, wish you Lion Queen Charter Team!

Safary & wine tour

Wine, that magic word, by which smell the whole Dalmatia as well as the whole Mediterranean...

...that nectar which springs from stony ground and red soil, grown-up by the love of the Sun...

Get to know it, feel its soul... and if you want to experience the unspoiled wildness of the swamp, see the river delta, hear the sound of reeds bending on the wind... Come with us and do this magnificent route...

SATURDAY: After we got on board and along with Welcome drink from our Captain, we start to navigate toward the island Brač and small town of Pučišća...

The ride that will last about 2 hours, will be „refreshed“ by stopping in a small bay where we will have our first bath.

Staying and overnight int he biggest Brač's town, Pučišća, will allowe us to get know at least some part of „stone world“: here from the ancient times is „war“ between stone and men. They would say: „is hard with or without you“, because the people here live „on stone, for stone and from stone“. (more on www.pucisca.hr)

SUNDAY: Along with good breakfast from our cook, our adventure turns to picturesque bays, of the land, to the town of Ploče. On the way, we will see the mountain Biokovo with its high peaks, that overtop the coast and the beautiful town of Makarska.

3-hour cruising will bring us to the town on the river Neretva where we will start with our eagerly expected safari:

Air-conditioned bus transfer will take us tot he ancient vessels that will take us into the wildeness of the delta of Neretva, the river always cold and whimsical. Some of the vessels are more than 100 years old. We will enjoy in sounds of rich fauna.

Sailing will last about one hour. We will be guided on this trip and followed by a live music („Duo Neretva“). At the end we are comming to the „Neretva House“, where is welcome drink waiting for us and then lunch along with the live music. After good time we are going back to our ship, ANDI STAR, where the warm dinner will be served.

MONDAY: Ploče –  stopping in a bay (lunch) – Korčula (aprox. 4 hours of driving)

Wine rapsody on the ranch „MAHA“:

20 minutes driving with our bus brings us to the new „wine experience“: with apperitive, the host will present his wineyards, the history and the nowdays of producing wine.

TUESDAY: the day is perfect for lying on the route Korčula – Vela Luka, free evening with sightseeing of Vela Luka

Vela Luka on the island Korčula is situated int he bay which is ideal for real relaxing holiday. Healing sources that are near by, make our healthy problems easier and have an impact on possible diseases.

WEDNESDAY: „wine track“  takes us further to our most distant island, Vis. To get there we need 3 hours by sailing with opened canvas. Even today we wouldn't forget to stop in a bay for a bath and lunch that will be served on the open deck of ANDI STAR.

In the evening the real pleasure is witing for us. „The wine from the island Issa in the Adriatic sea in comparing with others is better.“ – Agatarchides, 2nd Century BC

thumb_Muster_u_Komizi thumb_Na_vinogradu thumb_Amfore_Lamboglia_2_u_viskoj_arheoloskoj_zbirci_kraj._2._poc

Our host will „steal“  us for a half a day and take us into this beautiful island. We will visit the chapel of  St. Vid, the patron of  vintner and wine-grower, as well as the wineyards of Dračevo, Velo and Plisko valey. At the end we are comming to the ranch where we will be welcomed and have wine testing, brandy testing, prosecco testing and have tasteful dishes for a dinner.

In the case of autumn term, you can enjoy in a vintage.

After good feast, we are comming to the ship...have a nice dreams...

THURSDAY: another perfect day for lying on the route Vis – Hvar, free evening with sightseeing of Hvar

The city of Hvar is a unique fusion of luxurious Mediterranean nature, rich cultural and historical heritage, and mundane, tourist present.
It is situated in picturesque nature, facing the southern, side of the world that has given it all Mediterranean attraction and cheerfulness; facing sea, that gave it splendid and repeatable history, Hvar is an inexhaustible treasury of the scenery, atmosphere and adventure.

Its name derives from the Greek name for island and town, that stood where today Stari Grad (Hvar became an island’s centre in 13th century) stands - PHAROS.

Hvar gained glory and power during middle ages being an important port within the Venetian, naval empire. Today, it is centre of island’s tourism and one of the favourite destinations in Dalmatian riviera - a town of smiling and courteous people, who are almost only dedicated to tourism.

FRIDAY: We wish you good morning and good appetite! Tonight we will let you to our Captain and his Suprise dinner which will be on the island Čiovo, int he place Okrug Gornji.

Nevertheless, you'll allowe us that this dinner be a SUPRISE!!!!

SATURDAY: Trogir – unboarding at 9:30

We tried several wines, but still many of them are to be tasted. So, we will continue the next year...

Your LQC Team!
